Crystal Lake Illinois is an endearingly low key town with just enough things going on to keep life interesting without letting it become overwhelming. While many of their events are one time occasions, they are also known for various annual shindigs that are not to be missed. Spring time alone offers such a variety of pleasantries its no wonder the locals love it here.
One of the most disarming events that is hosted here is Lunch With the Bunny, at Old Town Hall above Heisler's Bootery. This Saturday, march 26th, the Easter Bunny will make an appearance with an Easter basket as big as a boat. Tickets are $14 and include a hot buffet lunch, free photos with the bunny, a gift for each child, music, entertainment, games, prize drawings, and various other ways in which Crystal Lake ushers in the Spring.
Soon after this, on April 10th, the annual Mother Daughter Tea will take place at the Colonel Palmer House on Terra Cotta road. This event gives ladies a chance to relax in Mrs. Palmer's parlors and be served tea by the Colonel Palmer House staff. There will also be a presentation by Holly Scott on dolls of the 1950s. Participants are encouraged to bring their favorite doll. Priced at fifteen dollars, this event is known to sell out every year, and interested parties are encouraged to register early.
Only two weeks later on April 23rd there will be the Fourth Annual Masquerade Ball benefiting Make-A-Wish Illinois. This event takes place at the Crystal Lake Holiday Inn and will feature live music by the Lowdown Brass Band. There will also be butler & buffet style Hors D'oeuvres and a candy table. Some of the entertainment will include a mask contest, a silent auction, mystery boxes, surprise balloons, and a prize wheel. This year they've expanded their offerings to include a VIP package which includes valet parking, a mystery gift, and a free spin on the prize wheel.
With this sort of an annual schedule it's apparent that Crystal Lake is animated by the approach of Springtime.
